GOOOOAAALLL(S)!!!! - Australian Youth Festival Update

The U18 MNT in their second match of the tournament, overwhelmed China with a 14-0 win.

Their final opponent, tournament host Australia, came from behind to tie Chile 2-2 in the 1st match of the day.

U-18 MNT Earns Draw Against Chile at Australian Youth Olympic Festival in Sydney




SYDNEY (Jan. 15, 2008) -- The U.S. Under-18 Men's National Team earned a draw against Chile at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in Sydney, Australia.

After a 17th minute goal from Chile, the U.S. battled back with midfielder Amobi Okugo leveling the score in the second half. A 54th minute corner kick from Dillon Powers sailed into the six-yard box where Okugo rose above the Chilean defenders to head it in.

Next up for the U-18 MNT is a battle with China on Friday, Jan. 16. They will then round out play at the Australian Youth Olympic Tournament against the hosts on Jan. 18.
